Piratförlaget, Lilla Piratförlaget and Alfabeta join Edda

Three of Sweden’s best-known publishing houses are now officially Edda customers. This follows a close collaboration focused on bringing physical and digital book sales together in one place, giving their teams a clearer picture of performance and better support for everyday publishing decisions.

Piratförlaget, Lilla Piratförlaget and Alfabeta are now officially joining Edda’s growing community of publishers.

Together, the three Swedish publishing houses represent a broad range of publishing, from bestselling fiction and internationally recognised authors to children’s literature and much-loved books that have found readers across generations.

While the partnership is being announced today, the work together is already well underway. Over the past months, Edda has worked closely with their teams to understand their needs, bring together sales information from different sources and make it easier to use in everyday publishing.

Bringing the full picture together

For publishers, understanding how a book is performing isn’t always as simple as looking at a sales report. Digital sales and listening data come from multiple platforms, while physical books move through distributors, retailers and other channels, often with different reporting schedules.

Getting a reliable overview across formats and channels matters not only for understanding what’s already happened, but also for deciding what to do next.

Mattias Castenfors at Piratförlaget explains:

“For us, it’s essential to have a consolidated daily view of sales across a wide range of digital platforms, alongside the ability to track physical book shipments and retail sell-through over time to support forecasting and reprint decisions. Edda brings this together in an intuitive interface that makes it easy to see the full picture. Throughout our collaboration, the team has listened closely and shown real commitment to resolving the challenges of bringing together our data from distributors and a fragmented retail landscape.”

Built around real publishing needs

The collaboration has involved more than introducing a new tool. Working closely with the publishing teams has helped Edda identify challenges in how sales information is collected, presented and used, and develop improvements based on those needs.

For Edda, this is an important part of how the product grows: understanding the realities of publishing and finding ways to make complex information easier to work with.

“Publishing is complex, and the value of better data becomes clear when you see the decisions publishers need to make every day,” says Daniel Bodner, Co-founder and CTO at Edda. “Working with the team at the Piratförlaget group has helped us turn that understanding into practical improvements in Edda. Our goal is to make sophisticated sales intelligence feel simple and natural to use, even when the underlying data is anything but simple.”

Looking ahead

The partnership continues to develop, with a shared focus on making sales information more useful across the publishing process.

For Piratförlaget, Lilla Piratförlaget and Alfabeta, that means building on a clearer view of how their books are performing. For Edda, it means continuing to learn from the people using the product and turning those insights into better tools for publishers.

Because the real value of sales data isn’t simply having access to more numbers. It’s being able to understand what they mean, and use that knowledge when it matters.
